Coming from the small town of Mansfield, Pennsylvania, Rani is ready to pursue her professional career in Communications. She graduated cum laude in December 2016 and earned a BA in broadcast journalism with a minor in business.

Throughout her time at Penn State, Rani has gained valuable skills and experience.  Most recently she worked for the Centre County Report as a Producer, Anchor, and Reporter. She performed a variety of tasks from determining newsworthy stories, assigning reporters to cover stories, and reporting in the field herself.

Over the summer, Rani completed internships with WENY News in Horseheads, NY and the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. She was able to gain hands on experience working with a professional news crew where she got to conduct interviews, operate cameras, and create stories. The Little League World Series allowed her to see a different side of the industry as she tracked the games and uploaded clips of great plays and funny or inspiring moments from the players.

Previously, as a studio crew member for PSN News, she operated

teleprompters, audio boards, cameras, graphics, and alligned video packages and commercials using Adobe Premiere. This fast paced environment has allowed Rani to become a strong multitasker and team player. With ComRadio, she has also gained experience writing local, state, national, and international news stories, entertainment, weather, and sports. Rani has plenty of experience working in a newsroom with strict deadlines.

Rani has gained a lot of valuable experience in her courses at Penn State such as radio, televsion, and business reporting. Throughout her studies, she has become passionate for videography as well. Rani is excited to start her professional career, and see what the industry has to offer.
